The headline “Toyota GR86 To Finally Get Turbo While Cutting Ties with Subaru” caught my attention recently. One reason is the curiosity gap; this announcement sparked my interest as a fan of both Toyota and Subaru and someone who appreciates the 86 chassis. For years, there has been speculation about adding a turbocharger to the chassis, so hearing that it’s finally confirmed excited me and likely many others.

The news resonates with me because both brands are among my favourites, and I’ve owned an 86. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the idea of a new generation with a turbo for quite a while. However, the headline also taps into the emotional aspect of change, as it mentions Toyota cutting ties with Subaru after over a decade of collaboration on the 86 chassis. This unexpected development feels like a negative shift to me, stirring up mixed emotions about the future of a beloved car
